Madame Tussauds has been one of the most popular tourist attractions in London for many years and continues to draw in visitors who are eager to get a glimpse of some of the most famous people in the world, from both the past and present, albeit it in the form of waxworks. Many of the works are of such stunning quality that you really would be hard pressed to tell the difference between them and their real life
The worlds of sport, celebrity and royalty are all represented so there is plenty of interest for people of all ages, so it can make for an enjoyable few hours for families, couples or lone visitors. Let’s have a quick look at some of the stars you might bump into on your visit.
Movie Stars – If you are a film fan, then Madame Tussauds will certainly appeal with actors and actresses from different eras represented. Kate Winslet, who has appeared in many great movies and is perhaps even now still best known for her role opposite Leonardo DiCaprio (who also has a model) in James Cameron’s Titanic, is represented. For the ladies, George Clooney awaits or for the younger generation and fans of Twilight, both Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner can be seen. Also represented are Johnny Depp, Nicole Kidman, Brad Pitt and even Charlie Chaplin!
Sports Stars – Football fans will enjoy seeing David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo, whilst other famous names from the world of sport include Olympic gold medallists Usain Bolt and Jessica Ennis, eleven times tennis grand slam winner, Rafael Nadal and boxing legend Muhammad Ali.
Pop and Rock Stars – See the late Michael Jackson and Amy Winehouse rubbing shoulders with Lady Gaga, Madonna, Rihanna and Cheryl Cole.
Royalty – You probably couldn’t have a waxwork museum in London without a splash of royalty and so you will be thrilled to see that Prince
William and the Duchess of Cambridge are here. Diana, Prince Charles and of course the Queen are also on show at Madame Tussauds.
